Woman Juror’s Imposition Ends in Tragedy. VANCOUVER, May 1. An extraordinary tragedy, involving murder and suicide among a family of four, a sequel to the bursting of a high finance bubble, was revealed to-day. For several years William Foshay and his associates were engaged in wild company flotations in Minnesota. They erected the famous Foshay Tower in the city of St Paul to mark the success of their enterprises. A vear ago the whole cardboard financial structure failed for many millions, and thousands of people lost their investments. Foshay and his associates were convicted of mail frauds, but only’ after a long trial. Mrs Genevieve Clark, a handsome brunette, who was formerly employ’ed as seoretary by Foshay, got herself selected for the jurv and did not reveal her former employment with the Foshay enterprises and her husband’s connection with a subsidiary business. Eleven jurors voted for a conviction, but Mrs Clark held out for an acquittal and, after a week’s sensational disagreement, the jurv was discharged. The woman’s true position was soon discovered, and she ,was sentenced to six months’ gaol for contempt of Court. She was allowed her freedom for three days to make family arrangements before beginning her sentence. She disappeared, and to-day her body, and those of her husband and two children, were found inside a closed motor car. A hose was attached to the exhaust. Mrs Clark was lying on a seat with her arms around her two boy r s. All had a painless death.
