COMING-OF-AGE DANCE
Mr and Mrs H. M’Clelland Entertain. Mi>and Mrs H. M’Clelland, of Euston Street, Riccarton, were host and hostess at an enjoyable evening given in the Masonic Hall, Riccarton, on Thursday, in honour of their fifth daughter, Annie’s, twenty-first birthday. The reception rooms were decorated in shades of pink and green and autumn tints. The hostess received the guests wearing a smart black satin beaute gown relieved with white, and a prune panne velvet coatee. Her daughter wore a dainty Nile green georgette frock with a sash at the waistline, and lemon velvet sprays on the shoulders, and a velvet cape. Musical items were given by Misses Vera Dalziel, Phyllis Sherwood. M. Cronin and Rona Welch, Mrs 11. M’Clelland and M. J. Colligan. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss Spencer and Mr J. Biddle, and the lucky spot by Miss Jean Edginton and Mr Cox. Messrs C. Johnston and N. Kelly (Kirwee) were M.C.’s. A beautifully iced birthday cake was cut by Miss A. M’Clelland, and the Rev H. T.
