ILL-FATED DIRIGIBLE.

Work of Salvaging the Akron Proceeding. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, April 18. Naval search vessels • located ’to-dav sections of the dirigible Akron, which crashed two weeks ago, but no immediate trace was found of the sixtyseven bodies which are still missing. After the grappling hooks struck a large heavy object and then brought up many pieces of the dirigible, divers descended and found the floor of the sea covered with small pieces of debris. They located a large section of the control car, which was hauled aboard a tug. Crashing into the sea during a fierce electrical storm on, the night of April 4, the United States Navy dirigible Akron —the largest airship in the world —carried with her to the bottom seventy-three officers and men. including Rear-Admiral W. Moffett, Chief of the Naval Air Division. The disaster has been ascribed to a weakness in the structure giving way during a period of terrific stress.
