Fishing at Shelly Beach, Miss Joan and Miss Patricia Hastings, aged eight and thirteen years respectively, daughters of Dr J. P. Hastings, of 249. Poisson by Road, hooked a 401 b kingfish on a schnapper line. The children tried to land their catch without assistance, but it proved too strong for them, and they had to call for help. Mr A. The “ kingi ” was cut up, and many picnickers helped themselves to it« juicy steaks.
