Deerstalkers who have returned to Ashburton from the Wilberforce district, where they have been camped during the past two weeks, state that they did not see many deer, this being due, no doubt, to the culling operations carried out during the winter months. Mr S. J. Thomas secured a seventeenpointer, two thirteen-pointers and a twelve-pointer. There were a number of stalkers in the same district, but few good heads were reported.
