MARIST NOVITIATE.
Will be Opened at Timaru on Sunday.
The new Marist Brothers Novitiate at Claremont, near Timaru, will be opened officially on Sunda}', when there will be a large attendance of members of the Hierarchy and clergy of the Roman Catholic Church, as well as Marist Brothers and old boys of Marist schools throughout the Dominion. Among the visitors w'ill be the Metropolitan of New Zealand (Archbishop Redwood), Bishop Liston, of Auckland 0 , Bishop Brodie, of Christchurch and Bishop Whyte, of Dunedin. The great advantage of the opening of the new establishment will be that novices of the Marist Brothers Older will not now have to go to Austialia as formerly for their training. The residence was purchased for the purpose from Major Bond some months ago.
