WAIMAK RIVER TRUST.
Election Necessary for Cust Subdivision. Nominations for positions on the Waimakariri River Trust closed at noon to-day. The required number of nominations were received in all but the Cust subdivision, for which one member is required. Mr 11. E. Evans, the sitting member, and Mr C. Morgan Williams will contest this seat at the election on May 3. All the other members are re-elected, with one new member in Mr F. W. Freeman. The nominations are as follows: Christchurch—Messrs F. W. Freeman, George Gould, 11. Holland, M.P., and Professor Robert Speight. Waimakariri East—Mr W. P. Spencer. Waimakariri West—Mr J. Leslie. Eyre—Mr R. O. Dixon. Cust—Messrs 11. E. Evans and C. Morgan Williams.
