Relief Allocations.

Board Gives Increased Amounts.

(Special to the “ Star.”) WELLINGTON, April 11. IMPORTANT PRECEDENT has been created by the Unemployment Board showing increased liberality in allocations for relief works organised by local bodies. The Wellington City Council made strong representations that its finances make it impossible to find the former amount of money from revenue to supervise the unemployed and provide material. As a result the council has been informed that the board is prepared to pay for supervision and material used by approximately half the number of unemployed under the City Council’s jurisdiction.
