HELP FOR POLICE.
Cards Issued to Sydney Residents. SYDNEY, April 4. Within the next few days more than 50,000 cards will be issued, appealing for public co-operation with the police by giving information concerning incidents or suspicions. The cards ask that such information be telephoned to official headquarters. The department is also arranging for placards to be displayed in trains, trams and buses. These are headed, “ Request for Public Co-operation,” and read:— Assist the police by— Securing premises when leaving home, and not leaving anything to indicate that there is no one on the premises; Refusing information to strangers regarding neighbours; Noting distinctive marks and numbers on jewellery and valuables (keep such in safe places) ; Instructing children to respect law and authority, and warning them against strangers who offer them money or sweets;
Regarding the police as friends and co-operating freely with them. Help them to help you. Always remember that police never disclose the source of *ny information supplied.
