GIRL REPRESENTATIVES.

The final game of the girls’ cricket season will take place on Saturday when the Otago representative team will play Canterbury for the Mary Macliin Shield, held at present by Canterbury. Considerable interest has been shown in girls’ matches throughout this season and Saturday’s game at Hagley Oval will provide a means of judging the strength of Canterbury. The home side, which includes five new representatives, is as follows:—R. Symons (captain), B. Te Rangi (vice-captain), S. Garner, V. Bel worthy, R. Cursons, J. Webster, K. Sullivan, M. Norman, E. Berland, B. Fellowes, M. Richards, and P. Taylor (twelfth girl). The team was selected by Mr M. L. Page, the New Zealand captain, and is a strong one in all departments. The Otago representatives will arrive bv the 7 a.m. train on Friday, and will be met at the station by members of the Canterbury executive and the team and, if a ground is available, they will practice on that day. On Saturday at Hagley Ova! the game will begin at 10.30 a.m. and will finish at 5 p.m. In the evening the visitors will be entertained at a dance. A picnic to Waikuku has been arranged for Sunday and on Monday the team will leave for Dunedin by the 12.25 train. During their

stav in Christchurch the girls will be billeted with members of the Girls’ Cricket Association. The Veterans’ team will plav the Christchurch Ladies’ CrL-t-et Club at T 1 acrtev Park at 1.30 p.m. sharp tomorrow
