CASHMERE SCHOOL.
The Cashmere School Committee met on Thursday evening. Present: Mrs L. Baker, Messrs J. H. Kidd (chairman) S. C. Andrews, E. W. White, A. W. Barker and R. S. H. Buchanan (secretary). The head master (Mr W. G. Napier) presented his monthly report, which showed satisfactory attendance and general progress. The resignation of Miss E. Oxford was received and regret was expressed at the departure of a highlyvalued member of the school staff. Mrs Baker, for the visiting committee, reported necessary repairs to the heating system, the stoves in the open-air rooms and fuel requirements. Final arrangements were made with regard to the school concert in aid of the school funds, which will be held in the Masonic Hall on Thursday, May 4. The chairman reported breakages by burglars and the theft of all the school keys. A sub-committee with power to act was appointed to make investigations regarding a suitable racio set. The chairman expressed his thanks to the members of the committee and the school staff for their loyal support during the yeai*.
