EMBARGOES LIFTED.
Terms of New Treaty With Australia.
United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, April 7. Advices received here indicate that the new trade treaty between Australia and New Zealand involves the removal of restrictions and embargoes here on some New Zealand products, chief of which is potatoes, in return for which Australia is to have the New Zealand market for dried and canned fruits and certain fresh fruits.
Minister of Customs Pleased With Results.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 7. In the course of an interview to-day concerning the trade treaty with Australia, the Minister of Customs, the Right Hon J. G. Coates, expressed entire satisfaction with the manner in which the negotiations had been carried out. It has not been possible for him to acquaint his colleagues in Cabinet with all that has been done, but he will do so at an early date. The terms of the treaty will be announced in Australia and New Zealand simultaneously.
