Two pictures, “ Flax Gully, Cashmere Hills,” and “ Bridge Over the Kowhai River,” have been presented to the Christchurch Technical College by Miss M. O. Stoddart, the well-known Christchurch artist, who painted them. Both pictures are of typical Canterbury scenes, and it is considered that they will be a great help to students at the college. Mr Frank Langstone, M.P. for Waimarino, will address two public meetings in # Christchurch to-morrow. In the afternoon he will address a Labour rally at Sydenham Park at 2.30, at which Messrs E. J. Howard and H. T. Armstrong, M.P.’s, will also speak. In the evening at eight o’clock in the Civic Theatre, Mr Langstone will speak with special reference to “ The stupidities of an artificial exchange rate, sales tax and Labour’s remedy.”
