Mr F. K. Sutton to Stand for Mayoralty. i" • Sutton stated last evening that as a result of numerous requests he had decided to again contest the Lyttelton Mayoralty on May 3 Mr Sutton is the sitting Mayor. Bowling. A friendly match will be placed on the Heath cote bowling green to-mor-row afternoon against the Lyttelton Club. For several seasons the Lyttelton 1 bowling green has not been in firstclass order, there having been a poor growth of grass. As a result bare patches have appeared all round the edges. Tn an effort to improve the green, men were engaged to top-dress and prepare it for a strike of grass. Kitchen Evening. A kitchen evening in honour oi Miss Lvelyn Giilard, who is shortly to be married, was given bv Mrs A. Thomas at the residence of Mrs W. Miller, Oxford Street. Dancing occupied the greater part oi the evening, and games and competitions were held, the winners of the competitions being Miss E. Giilard, Mrs W. Miller and Mr R. P Miller. Those present included; Mesdames A. Thomas and W. Miller, Misses Evelyn Giilard, Agnes Yidulich, Phj-llis Carter, Mona M'Grath, Eva Miller, Thelma Morrissey and Maude Nixon, Messrs R. P. Miller, A. Thomas, E. Johnson, F. Hart, C. Cordner, W. M. Miller. L. Miller and K. E. Miller. Ambulance Dance. The combined divisions of St John Ambulance in Lyttelton will hold a dance in the Excelsior Hall to-morrow night.
