Nominations Will Close on April 19.
This year the triennial election of members of the Waimakariri River Trust, which in the past has been held in the month of January, will take place on Wednesday, May 3, the same day as the municipal elections. Nominations for seats on the trust will close with the returning officer, Mr C. W. Hervey, on Wednesday, April 19, at noon. The franchise for the River Trust election is restricted to persons who are ratepayers in their own right, and the law provides for plural voting. A person with a property of a capital value up to £IOOO is entitled to record one vote. Two votes are allowed where the property is tip to £2OOO in value, and three votes where it is £3OOO or more. The maximum number of votes that may be recorded by one person is three.
