RUGBY REFEREES.
Annual Conference of N.Z. Association. The annual report of the New Zealand Rugby Referees’ Association, to be presented at the conference and annual meeting- in Blenheim on April 14, states that past season has proved a busy The executive continued its policy of meeting every week in order that replies to questions submitted by affiliated associations could be given with a minimum of delay. “ The executive feels ,that by regular weekly meetings a closer touch can bo kept with associations from on© end of New Zealand to the other; it is the earnest wish of the executive that affiliated associations should feel that if any knotty problems arise they can be submitted to headquarters and an immediate reply received without any vexatious delay. More direct contact could be established b.v a personal visit from some members of the executive to affiliated associations, but financial considerations preclude the possibility of such desirable action. Personal contact at present can only be obtained at the annual confercnce, to which it. is greatly desirable that all associations should endeavour to send a delegate.” The forthcoming conference is being held at Blenheim, and it is the desire of the executive that every association bo represented. The fact that the laws of the game have been altered again by te Rugby Football Union makes it destrable that there should he a good gathering of delegates, so that the real meaning of the alterations may be found by round the table discussion.
