LATE MRS ALICE JONES.

Mrs Alice Jones, whose death occurred on Monday evening after a sfeort illness, had been a resident of Rangiora for seventy-four years. Born in England in 1854, she came to New Zealand, when four years of age, with her parents, 'the late Mr and Mrs William Smith, by the ship Hampton, arriving at Lyttelton in March, 1858. In 1878 she was married to Mr Henry Jones, and until the time of her death lived at “ Karetu,” Oxford. Road, Rangiora. Mrs Jones is survived by her husband, two sons and three daughters, nine grandchildren and three great-grand-children.
