The Longest Road Tunnel.
LONGEST road tunnel in Great Britain is on the main road from London to Holyhead. The tunnel is at the foot of the'*norntain, 2000 feet high, known as Penmaenbach, between Conway and Penmaenmawr. For years motorists have dreaded that particular bit of road because of the danger from falling rock. It was decided to include the improvement of this spot in a larger scheme, which is to cost over £250,000. The cost of the tunnel was £70,000. A tunnel was cut through a spur of the mountain. Double-decker motoromnibuses can be driven through it.
