RUGBY FOOTBALL.
Replacement of Injured Players. Per Press Association. OAMARU, March 8. The annual meeting of delegates to the North Otago Rugby Union unanimously resolved that the delegate to the New Zealand Union should vote in favour of the replacement of injured players even to the extent, if necessary, of breaking away from the English Union. Paparua Club. The annual meeting of the Paparua Rugby Club was held in the Templeton Library on Tuesday. There was a good attendance of members and intending members. Air H. Parker presided. It was decided to make a slight reduction in the subscription for the coming season A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Air J. Watson for his work as secretary and treasurer during the last season. The chairman (Air H. Parker) complimented the coaches on their good work in getting the teams into shape. Fourteen new members were nominated. Tt was decided that April 1 should be opening day. The following officers were elected.— Patron, ATr J. Watt; president. Air G. P. Kissel; vice-presidents. Messrs H. B. Kissel, G. A. Kissel, G. Venner, T. White, T. ATortland. V. Parker, R. Darroch, W. Alorris; secretary, Air H. L. Kissel: treasurer. Air H. Kempthorne; auditor. Air R. R. Mackie; delegate to the Canterbury Rugby Union, Air G. A. Brown; club captain, Mr Lance Cook; trustees, Messrs H. B. Kissel and H. Parker; committee. Alessrs H. Kempthorne. R. Lodge, G. Drayton. P. Bond, F. Playle, J. Garrett and S. Taylor.
