ROWING REGATTA.
Union Club’s Success at Wellington. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 25. Crews from Canterbury. Marlborough and Wanganui took part in the Wellington annual rowing regatta to-day. I The entries totalled 59, as against 5G [ last year, but there was one additional event. The Korokoro course was used, and gusts from the gullies in the hills were troublesome. Rain threatened during the progress of the events. Results: Maiden pairs, for clinker boats, cure mile—Petone 3. Wellington 2, Star 3. Also started—Wairua. Youths’ fours, for clinker boats, one mile—Union (Christchurch) 1, Wanganui 2, Star 3. Also started—Petone. Junior pairs, for clinker boats, one mile—Petone 1, Star 2 Wairau 3. Also started—Union (Christchurch). Senior Single Sculls Kennedy (Petone) 3, Bright (Wellington) 2, Tarrant (Picton) 3. Senior Fours—Aramoho 1, Star 2, Petone 3. Junior Fours—Wellington Club 1, Petone 2, Star 3. Senior Pairs—Star (Coote and Mullins) 1, Wellington Club 2.
