Tlie box plans are now open at The Bristol for the Christchurch season of " Pleasure Bound.” the big- spectacular vaudeville revue, in which Frank Neil’s revue company will make its first appearance at the Theatre Koval under the direction of J. C. Williamson. Ltd., on Saturday next. at the matinee. The company presented no fewer than fifty-four performances during its season in Auckland, also four weeks in Wellington, which is a record for those cities. Since she last appeared here, Ella Shields has added considerably to her repertoire, and in “ Pleasure Bound ” she will nresent “Sing a Song of Sunshine,” -River, Stay Away from My Boor,” and “ Here We Are Again.” At almost every performance Ella Shields is called upon to sing “Burlington Bertie.” the song 1 that has made her famous the world over. George Wallace is undoubtedly

one of the funniest comedians New Zealand playgoers have ever enjoyed. His skill as a dancer, raconteur, singer of ludicrous songs and general merrymaker is enjoyed at its best in “Pleasure Bound." The four daring Diabolos, Continental adagio dancers, electrified playgoers of Auckland and Wellington by their very thrilling act, and quite a feature of the production is the work of Maurice Diamond’s remarkably fine team of ballet girls. Modern ballads are sung by Miriam Lester, who last appeared here with J. <'. Williamson’s company in “The Belle of New York.” She has a delightful soprano voice, which is heard at its best in •Alice Blue Gown.” Maida Jones l is a blonde of many graces who is equally accomplished as soubrette, dancer and comedienne, while Maggie Buckley and Lily Molloy sing and act in numerous sketches. Murray and Walton arc two remarkably fine and audiences. No money has been spared to make the production of “ Pleasure Bound ’’ one of the most spectacular ever witnessed in New Zealand. Intending patrons are advised to secure their seats early as already a large number of seats have been booked.
