MEMBERSHIP OF R.S.A.

There was a round of applause at the meeting of the executive of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association last evening when an announcement was made that the membership had reached a total of 2033. For some months the Christchurch association has been at the head of the membership ladder of the branches of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, with Dunedin in second place. The figures for the leading associations as December 31 were as follows; Christchurch 1918, Dunedin 1801. Auckland 1767, South Canterbury 887, Gisborne 612, Invercargill 591 and Wellington 555 The total membership for the whole Dominion was 13,827, there being 7234 in the North Island and CSP3 in the South Island.
