SURPRISED BY POLICE.

Two Men Charged With Store Burglary. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, January 17. A hurried visit by the police to a store owned by Mr N. Sampson, of Sentry Hill, at 1.30 o’clock this morning resulted in two men with a motorcar being caught almost red handed in a burglary of the store. It is understood that a search of their homes at New Plymouth brought to light a considerable quantity of groceries, tobacco, clothing and other goods, which had been missed from other places. Later, Stanley Lower and Philip Charles Saxton appeared before the Court charged with being on the premises with felonious intent. On the application of the police they were remanded till January 25. Bail was refused.
