ATHLETICS.
Excellent Programme at English Park. SOME EXCITING CYCLING. An excellent programme of running, cycling, chopping and dancing events was held at English Park Stadium on Saturday evening. The racing was fast and exciting, with some close finishes, particularly in the quarter-mile cycle handicap. An added attraction was a series of tug-of-war matches. Hardie and Thomson’s A and B teams tied for first place after some closely contested matches. The weather was good, but the attendance was only fair.
