A. F. Stacey Defendant in Case. Arthur Francis Stacey, a candidate for the Mayoralty at the coming City Council elections, was summoned to appear in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, on a charge of being an unlicensed land agent. Stacey did not appear, and the case was adjourned until January 26. Chief-Detective Carroll produced a telegram which he had received from Stacey, asking for a fortnight’s remand. Stacey said he was out of town. The Magistrate (Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) said that he had no objection to granting a remand.
