“MY PAL THE KING.”

“His First Command,” starring William Boyd, will finish at the Grand Theatre to-night. Good, clean, wholesome entertainment is provided in “My Pal the King,” which will begin a season to-morrow. The story takes Tom Mix, the star, to the capital city of a mythical little European kingdom called Olvania. It is a happy idea, and one that gives Mix the opportunity to retain all his western glamour and colour, but transfers the settings to new and unusual places. The story centres around a boy king (Mickey Rooney). A wild west show that is put on with the king and his aunt as special guests is a riot of thrills and excitement. Plenty of riding. roping, broncho busting. Indian fighting and the proverbial stage coach robbery follow.
