CHURCH CAMPAIGN.
Early in November, the officers of the Colombo Street Baptist Church decided to run a “talent campaign ” in order ;o remove the deficit on the general working account of the church. The members and friends of the church were organised into ten groups, each group being asked to raise £lO. As a result of the campaign—which ran for five weeks and included concerts, parties and a garden party—the £IOO objective was reached and passed. This has meant that a year which began with a debit balance of £56 has ended with a comfortable credit balance. The annual meeting of the church was held on December 15. Apart from the above satisfactory statement, there were a number of encouraging reports. The Sunday School is larger than ever and showing more activity than before, while the various other organisations are all in a flourishing condition. The officers for the coming year are:—Secretary and treasurer, Mr P. M. Velvin: deacons, Mrs Webster, Miss Hill, Messrs W. R. Gahagan, J. S. Barnett, S. T. Barnett, E. D. Brown. A. R. Eagle, F. N. Cornwall and W. Cadman.
