IMPRESSIVE CAST.

Clive Brook in Film for Theatre Royal. “ Sinners in the Sun,” starring Chester Morris and Carole Lombard, will be shown for the last time at the Theatre Royal on Friday night. Th * ever popular Clive Brook plays the leading role in “ The Night of June 13,’ a cleverly-produced picture, which will open at the Theatre Royal on Saturday. A most impressive cast includes Charles Ruggles, Lila Lee, Gene Raymond, Frances Dee and Adrianne Allen. It is a - story of four suburban families, who to all outward appearances, live quiet suburban lives. But there are strange undercurrents which gather force and finally burst on the night of June 13, andfthe four families, living in four adjoining houses, find that fate mingles their lives curiously. Clive Brook has the role of a young husband, whose wife (Adrianne Allen) is hysterically jealous of him. When she suspects him of an affair with their next-door neighbour (Lila Lee), she commits suicide. Brook finds a note from his wife, who places the responsibility for her action upon their neighbour. To protect the girl Brook destroys the note, with the result that he is charged with murder. At the trial all the neighbours lie to protect their own reputations. They put their own problems before the life of Brook because they believe him guilty in any case. The events leading up to a dramatic climax are calculated to sustain the interest of the audience. Clive Brook, who is one of the most polished actors on the screen, gives a fine portrayal as the wronged husband. Beautiful Lila Lee is back again on the screen after a two years’ rest. Illness forced her retirement for a period at a time when she was well on the road to stardom. , Other players in the cast are Mary Boland, Helen Jerome Eddy, Edward Le Saint, Helen Ware, Richard Carle and Charles Grapewin.
