LINWOOD SCHOOL.

The prize-giving ceremony at the break-up of the Linwood School took place on Friday last. In the morning the primary depart*..ent was entertained by’ Father Christmas, who distributed toys from a large Christmas tree in one of the classrooms. Father Christmas also spoke a few words to each of the children of the lower standords. Each of these classes had a gathering of its own. During the afternoon the IV., V. and VI. Standards gave exhibitions of dancing, recitations and musical items and received their certificates. which were presented by the chairman of the committee and two of the lady members. The dux medallists were Shirley ftoden and Ernest Mark.
