PAY ON SATURDAY.
The Summit Road Trust Workers. Following representations bv the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.). Councillor J. M’Combs and Mr H. G Ell, arrangements have been made foi the Summit Road Trust relief worker: to be paid on Saturday so that the> will have money to carry them ovei tlpe holiday season. The workers complained that the> had been promised the money and hac indeed signed extra pay-sheets. Th< official notification that the men are tc be met was received from the Commis sioner by the Mayor this morning anc reads: “If the signed pay-sheets are presented to the Chief Postmaster or December 23 the money will be lodged in the bank to enable pay to be made late on Friday or else on Saturda\ morning.”
