German Loan to Belgium.
BRUSSELS, November 8. has lent to Belgium one of her most precious possessions—the shrine containing the remains of Saint Albert the Great, the German Dominican friar whose great learning attracted scholars from all parts of Europe to Cologne in the 13th century to share his lectures. The shrine was brought to the Belgian frontier on Friday by the Bishop of Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle), and taken to Liege, where it was carried in procession through the city and venerated by thousands. Yesterday it was brought here and placed in charge of the Dominicans, who will retain it until November 13, when it will be returned to Germany.
