Miss Patricia Stewart will spend the Christmas holidays at Akaroa. Miss S. W. Armstrong, Sydney, is staying at the United Service Hotel. Miss Dorothy Sims, Auckland, is the guest of Miss Colborne Veel, Sumner. Misses Thomson, South America, are staying at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr and Mrs L. Simpson, Palmerston North, and Miss J. Donaldson, Otaki, are guests at the New City Hotel. Mr and Mrs S. Thomas, Clifton Road, Takapuna, with their daughter, Daphne, are visiting Christchurch. Mrs Sholto Douglas, Ethelton, who spent a few days in Christchurch, returned home yesterday. Mr and Mrs Clifford Baxter, Timaru, are staying wdth Mr and Mrs T. B. Boulton, Richmond Hill, Sumner. Mrs C. G. Sincoclc, Woodville, is spending the holidays with Mrs W. A. Gaffney, Gloucester Street. Mrs Arne Larsen, of Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs A. Cassidy, Cashmere Hills. Miss Dallas, Little River, has returned to her home in Southland for the school holidays. Miss Katherine Clarkson, Bristol Street, left to-day to spend the Christmas holidays at Darfield. Miss Macbean Stewart, Bristol Street, will leave next week for a holiday in Wellington. Miss B. Line, Little River, left on Monday for a visit to Rotorua and Auckland. Mr and Mrs J. E. Adams, of Auckland, will arrive in Christchurch on Tuesday. Mrs Burdon. Woodbury, who has been visiting Christchurch, returned south to-day. Mrs Owen Mead, Dunedin, has been staying with Mrs W. O. Campbell, Fendalton. on her way to Blenheim. Miss Nettie Green, Riccarton, is spending the Christmas vacation at Gore Bay, North Canterbury. Mrs Willis, Warwick blouse, will be the guest of her brother. Sir Heaton Rhodes, Otahuna, for Christmas. Mr and Mrs lan Menzies, Menzies Bay, will be the guests of Mrs Percy Acton-Adams, Clarence Reserve, for Christmas. Mr and Mrs C. Mauger and family, Riccarton, will leave to-morrow to stay with Mr and Mrs M. Mackenzie in Dunedin. Mr and Mrs J. Dickson and family, Addington, will leave on Friday to spend the Christmas holidays at Cheviot. Mrs John Grigg, Fendalton, and Mrs Gilbert Grigg, Hororata, will spend Christmas with Mr and Mrs J. H. Grigg, Longbeach. Mrs Charles Beadel, Merivale, and her sister, Miss Hassal, Fendalton, will leave after Christmas to spend a holiday at Punakaiki, West Coast. Mrs George Merton, Montreal Street, is visiting her daughter, Mrs Maurice Fell, Wanganui, and will return home early in the New Year. Mr and Mrs Donald Grigg. Bankside. will spend Christmas with Mr and Mrs E. F. J. Grigg, “ Meadow Bank,” Marlborough. Miss Jessie Duncan, New Brighton, and Miss Phyllis Gibbens, of the Christchurch Hospital staff, are the guests of Mrs W. White, Greymouth. Miss Thomson and Mrs Begg, Durham Street North, have gone to Auckland and will return early in the New Year. Mrs L. W. Martin, Wellington, who is the guest of Mrs F. J. Martin, Kiimore Street, will return home to-mor-The Misses Annas and Phyllis Gale have left for Auckland, where they will spend the summer vacation with their aunt, Mrs H. Bagnall, Remuera. Miss Peggy Loughnan, Lower Hutt, who has been visiting her grandfather, Mr H. O. Devenish Meares, Christchurch, returned to Wellington yesterday morning. Mrs W. L. Travers, Day’s Bay, Wei lington, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs S. L. Partridge, Tui Street Fendalton, after a visit to the South, returned to Wellington last evening. A presentation was recently made by the pupils of the Little River Main School to Miss Alice Gibb, who is shortly to be married. Mr W. H. Montgomery, on behalf of the children, presented Miss Gibb with a Doulton bowl. Master Graham French presented her with a bouquet. Miss Gibb’s future home will be in Invercargill.
