DIED AFTER BEING MAULED

United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CALCUTTA, December 19. Mr John Gilbert Bourne, DeputyCommissioner in the Betul District of the Central Provinces, died to-day as a result of injuries received from a tiger while gallantly attempting to rescue an Indian beater who was being mauled. Mr Bourne shot and fatally wounded one tiger, whose mate attacked the beater and then turned on Mr Bourne.
