The next conference of delegates to the Municipal Association of New Zealand will be held at Rotorua, commencing on Thursday, March 2, 1933. In a circular to all affiliated local bodies it is stated that it is quite certain that in the near future further amendments will have to be made to the Municipal Corporations Act. Possibly the whole scheme of local government legislation would have to be re-drafted. A Wellington message says that Myrtle Jones, aged 27, who was convicted last year and ordered to come up for sentence if called on, appeared in Court to-da>' on charges of shoplifting. She was sent to gaol for one month.
