At the last meeting- of Philipson Tent congratulations were extended to Sister Teague and Brother Forsey on their approaching marriage. Brother .G. Good (Pride of Christchurch Tent) was elected Provincial Chief Ruler. 1.0.1 t., at the conference in Ashburton.

Brother George W. Andrews, one of the oldest JLechabites in the Dominion, was present at the conference in Ashburton, and displayed a certificate which had been signed ninety-five years ago. An announcement was made at the meeting of the 'Pride of’ Christchurch Tent, 1.0. R., that Sister E. llusgrove had been transferred to Timaru. i.0.0.r. Ridgeiy Lodge.—X.G. Brother J. N. M’Farlane pi'esided, and the transfer of Brother A, R. Chambers, from Waimatje, was accepted. . An invitation was extended to Mistletoe Lodge, U.A.0.D., to attend the next* meeting. Wastney, presided and extended | a hearty welcome to the lodge doctor, j who. at the request of the lodge, gave ;an interesting address on first aid to the injured. Perseverance Lodge.—The Arch Druid, Brother Rushworth, presided, and the District President, Brother .T. W. Pollard, was present and reported on the prize-giving at the meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter. Reports on the. Benevolent Association and the Loyal Addington jubilee banquet were given. The social evening next lodge night will include visitors from Queen of the Oak and No. 2 District. P.G.P. Brother ,T. Fisher. Oak of Sydenham,- was accorded a welcome. 1.0.0. F., M.XJ. Loyal City of Xorwich.-—X.G. Brother A. Thompson presided, and the first night of nomination of officers resulted as follows: N T .G., Brother A. M’Ledd; V.G., Brothers W. Smith and W. J. Jones: elective secretary, P.P.G.M. Brother W. O. G. Taylor. The holding of a Christmas tree children’s party will be considered at the next summoned meeting. Loyal Jubilee Lodge.—The Prebblcton Hall was well filled on the occasion of the forty-fifth anniversary social, representatives being present from other lodges. Fred Smith’s band provided the music, and Brothers M. Brav and J. Cooke officiated as M.C.’s. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr F. Gallagher and partner, and Misses Emily and Elsie Gallagher won the lucky spot Loyal City of Christchurch. —There was a good attendance of members and visiting sisters at the meeting of the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., held on Monday evening. The X.G. occupied the chair. Brethren repotted on the D.G.M.’s official visit to the Loyal Ricca-rton Lodge and. the jubilee gatherings of the Loyal Addington Lodge?. One candidate was initiated. s Nominations were declared open for lodge officers for next term, and four nominations were received for the office of Vice Grand. It was decided to entertain the Loyal Benevolent, Perseverance and City of Xorwich Lodges next lodge night. After the meeting a hard-up social and dance provided much amusement. Sister E. Winter and Brother A. Shearman were the prize winners. The Lecture .Master, Brother W. J. Roberts, presented the prizes. Brother X. Carson provided the music for the dancing and Brother Autori Low gave an item. Z.O.R. Philipson Tent.—The Chief Ruler, Brother J. F. Martin, presided, and Sister Dell gave an interesting report on the juveniles. The visitors included P.C.R. Sister G. Bunt, Brother Bunt (Chief Ruler Pride of Christchurch), Brother Laurie (Richmond), and District Chief Ruler, Brother C. H. Bascand. Members were reminded of the "dance at Riccarton on November 9, and the social at Brighton on Xoveniber 12. Brother W. Bayliss reported on tlie Provincial Council meeting, and Sister Martin on the juvenile executive. At the close of the business Brother F. Judkins supplied music for the dance and Brother Forsey acted as M.C. Pride of Christchurch Tent.—Chief Ruler Brother W. D. ’Bunt presided, and the initiation competition judge (Mr C. M1ln) was present to judge the ritualistic work. Reports were given by delegates to the Canterbury Provincial Council meeting at Ashburton. The reports show an increase in .membership in the district. The following tent members were elected to offices ori the council: Provincial Chief Ruler, Brother G. Good; Provincial "Secretary, Brother Bunt; Provincial Deputy Ruler, Brother T. Nuttall; Past Provincial Chief Ruler, Sister G. Bunt. The report from the district executive regarding the membership shield in the central distrifct competitions shows the first four places gained by Canterbury tents, as follows: Pride of Christchurch Tent (winners of the shield) 1, Enterprise Tent 2, Riccarton Tent 3, Woolston Tent 4. The 1000 membership campaign committee work was outlined by the secretary, Brother C. H. Bascand, who stated that Organised work would be taken in hand immediately.

Hensley, Chief Rulerj presided over Tuesday’s meeting and initiated two membersi Superintendent Brother Robinson reported that the provincial juvenile initiation competition will be held on Saturday, November 19. Superintendent Brother . Gifford reminded members of the membership prizes and the half-yearly election. At the conclusion of the business members indulged in games.
