Canterbury Centre’s Annual Report. Another successful season is recorded in the annual report of the Canterbury : Centre of the New Zealand Am'ateur | Swimming Association, to be presented at the annual meeting on Tuesday evening next. The financial report shows a credit balance on the year’s working of £ll 14s 7d. There were now eleven clubs, and the Canterbury Centre of the Royal Rife Saving Society affiliated to the centre, stated the report. Though several of the clubs had fallen on bad times, most of them were active, and had had a The new scheme introduced during the past season of forming water polo groups of equal strength, irrespective of clubs, l.ad proved a success, and infers a game who would not otherwise have been able to play. FENDALTON CLUB. The annual meeting of the Fendalton Amateur Swimming Club was held last evening, Mr J. Mawson Stewart presiding. The committee recommended that owing to the financial position of the club and the small number of competitive swimmers, the club should not affiliate with the Canterbury Centre. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman said the club was to be congratulated on the season’s working. It had started with a liability of £4O and practically no assets, and had finished with no liability and a credit balance of £7 odd. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected:— Patron. Mr George Humphreys: president, Mr J. Mawson Stewart; club captain, Mr C. Riordan; deputy captain, Mr G. Berry; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Halliday; honorary auditor, Mr A. Stewart; committee, Messrs A. R. B. Ross, T. H. Beckett, F. Falloon, C. Benger, T. White, W. Glue and K. LeCren; executive, the president, the secretary, and Messrs C. Cross and C. Riordan; liandlcappcr, Mr R. Halliday.
