FORESTRY WORK.

Canterbury College School’s Activities. Last evening some thirty members of the Canterbury College School of Forestry gathered at the Royal Hotel for the annual dinner. Many interesting speeches added variety to the evening. A full toast list was included in the programme. Mr F. E. Hutchinson proposed the toast of “ The Selwyn Plantations Board,” which was responded to by Mr R. G. Robinson, superintendent of the plantations, who referred to the value of the practical and theoretical work of the Forestry Department at Canterbury College. Mr C. E. Foweraker, of the College Forestry Department, proposed the toast of “ The Allied Departments,” and responses were made by Professor Percival, of the biology department, Professor A. H. Tocker. for the economics department, and Mr W. A. Smith, for the accountancy department. The toast list was continued as follows: —“Private Forestry,” proposed by Mr R. B. Moorhouse and responded to by Mr J. Deans: “ The School of Forestry,” proposed by Mr L. Roberts and replied to by Mr C. E. Foweraker, and “ Those Departing,” proposed by Mr J. Gorman and responded to by Mr 11. B. Latter.
