BEAUTIFUL NEEDLEWORK
W omen of other days had a reputation for beautiful needlework, but it is doubtful if they ever produced more beautiful aprons than those entered for Hay’s Needlework Competition. The exhibition is eliciting praise and wonder on the part of the hundreds of people who are viewing it daily. The prize-winners are as follows: First prize, Mrs H. Pike; second, Mrs W. D. Gordon. Twenty were very highly commended, namely, Mrs Vogel, Burwood Girls’ Home, G. L. Harmon, Mrs Wilson, Mrs A. Coleman, Phyllis Webb, Miss L. Turner, Daisy Odering, Mrs A. Talbot, Helen Christie, Mrs C. W. Thomas, Miss Edna Gray, Miss Doris Preece, Mrs T. H. Smith, Miss Tui Allan, Mrs B. Bailey, T.E., Mrs Marsden, Miss G. M. Drayton, Hilda Burton.
