Australians Defeat Movie Stars. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LOS ANGELES, August 26. The Australians defeated the Hollywood Cricket Club by 209 runs for five wickets to 99 runs for seventeen wickets. Bradman scored 48, M’Cabe 66, and Kippax 64. The Hollywood team included a number of former British players in the movies, including Boris Karloff, H. B. Warner, Df-njond Roberts, Murray Kinnell, Claude King, and Carbery Smith. Hammond’s Highest Score. LONDON, August 25. W. R. Hammond, the Gloucestershire cricketer, made the highest score of his career in first-class cricket when lie made 264 for his county, whose first innings against Lancashire yielded 514.
