BRITISH RADIO ADVANCES.
British Official Wireless. RUGBY, August 19 The British Radio Exhibition, staged at a cost of £50,000 in the great glass house at Olympia, opens to-day and will remain open until August 27. The impressive range and quality of the exhibits, combined with the marked reduction in prices since last year, are striking illustrations of the progress of the British electrical trade. The increase in the number of registered radio sets to nearly 5,000,000 marks the transition of wireless from a luxury to an essential. In addition to cheapness the chiet features of 1932 models are simplicity of design, improved reproduction and greater range and selectivity. Notable advances have been made in both valve and battery design.
