Final Round of Senior Competition. FAST PLAY WITNESSED. The final round of the senior - and junior A grade competitions was played 1 o-day. The grounds were wet and slippery, but the overhead conditions were REDCLIFFS v. TECHNICAL. Technical broke away from the bully and Trebilcock centred neatly, but Ron Dale hit over. Redd iff s forced play to Technical’s end. A free hit gave relief to Technical. Grade and Moir got well down, but the latter cleared the net with a hefty shot. Cooper stopped a Technical rush and sent the Reddiffs forwards away, headed by Ainger -and Burnes. The latter hit over the net. Cooper sent a good centre in to Ainger, whose shot was stopped by Hutchens, but Prebble netted with a high snot. Redcliffs 1, Technical 0. Grade went well down for Technical, but Duffield missed with the scoring shot and Cooper cleared. Half-time score: Redcliffs 3, Technical 0. On resuming, Redcliffs broke away, Prebble talcing play well down and centring for Ainger .to connect cleverly and net easilv. Reddiffs 2, Technical 0. Scott sent Grade away on. Technical's right, and a scramble in Redcliffs’ goal ended in Lohrey netting with a beautiful shot. Redcliffs 2, Technical 1. Technical set up a series of solid attacks, but Thompson saved repeatedly. Reynold Dale collided with another player and suffered slight concussion add had to go off. his place being taken by E. Prebble. Short!v after. Cole passed across to Trebilcock, who netted with a brilliant back-hander. Redcliffs 2, Technical 2. Redcliffs set off and got well into Technical’s oirde, but Cole cleared. Ainger and E.• Prebble broke away for Redcliffs and Hitchens came out and obstructed, and Redcliffs gained a penalty bully, which Hitchens cleared. Final scores:— REDCLIFFS 2 TECHNICAL 3 Referees: Messrs W. H. Down and .M. Bugg. TRINITY v. SELWYN. A free hit to Trinity in the circle made them dangerous, but D. M’Cormick missed. C. Hore sent his forwards awav. Norris came across well to relieve at the expense of a corner, from which Full wood opened Selwyn’s score with a good goal. Sehvyn 1, Trinity 0. D. M’Cormick went close to scoring from a penalty corner. Barnhill saved well from Lane after the latter had put in a good run on the loft for Selwyn. Forman centred from the right, and D. M’Cormick just failed to connect as the ball rolled past the. Selwyn goal-mouth. Trinity were dangerous and kept Bellamy busy. Barnhill came out to save from a Selwyn attack, missed, and while he was out of goal the ball rolled slowly and hit the bottom of the net. Half-time was called with the score: Selwyn 1, Trinity 0. Trinity had the better of the game ion the resumption. D. M’Cormiek shot right over the goal. Davis put in a good run on the left and centred, but Forman bung on too long, Gay relieving. Egan missed and let D. M’Cormick through. P. M’Cormick finishing off with a great goal. Selwyn 1, Trinity 1. P. Gay, Selwyn left half, retired with an injured knee, and. a few moments later, W. Bowden, the Trinity right-half, also retired with an injured knee, but went on again soon after. Selwyn set up a hot attack. C. Rogers came across and saved well, however. P. M’Cormick and Forman got going for Trinity, Egan conceding a corner in saving. ” Sticks ” nullified P. M’Cormick’s shot at goal. Davis, after a nice run ort the left, finished off with a brilliant shot that beat Bellamy all the way. Trinity 2, Selwyn 1. The closing stages were fevenly contested. Full-time was sounded with the score: TRINITY 2 SELWYN J Referee: Mr C. Bellamy.. VARSITY v. SYDENHAM. The Sydenham teams wore a white arm-band as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Allan Mather Arnold, a prominent member of the club. Varsity had the better of the opening exchanges, but could not penetrate the defence. Whittaker intercepted and passed to Langridge, from whose centre Duffield found the corner of the net. Sydenham 1. Varsity 0. From the resultant uully. Sydenham went through. and Uusbridge registered. Sydenham 2, Varsity 0. From a free hit, Hayes transferred to Barnett, from whose shot Sydenham conceded a corner. Forsyth found the net. Sydenham 2, Varsity 1. Sydenham took play straight through from the bully, and Lloyd registered Sydenham's third goal. Sydenham 3, Varsity 1. Sydenham gained a corner and Duffield found the net. but a breach nullified. Halftime came with Varsity on the attack, and the score: Sydenham 3, Varsity 3. On resuming, Varsity attacked in a determined manner and Yuill made a good save. Sydenham returned the attack, and a left-wing centre saw Rusbridge.find the net. Sydenham 4, Varsitv 1. From a roll-in. Ford cut through and netted for Varsity with a good shot. Sydenham 4, Varsity 2. Varsity came again, and Sheen finished off a good piece of work by registerng. Sydenham 4, Varsity 3. From a free hit, Ford followed through and evened up the score bv netting off (he goal-keeper’s pads.
