111-nourished Women.

To the Editor. Dear Sir, —Your reporter has a moving tale to tell in Thursday’s “ Star ” Evidently wholesale methods in relief of distress are, as usual, leaving gaps, which are worse than moderate overlapping. We write to say that a limited amount of relief could be obtained in the form of good rich and hot soup every Sunday for such women as you describe.

Mrs Green, of the Hospital Board, kindly permits us to mention her name here; she will direct any distressed women who apply to her to the address where they can bring their jugs or billies at 1 o’clock on Sunday and obtain the soup. Our limit is at present some eight or ten gallons only, but even so it may help a few.—l am, etc., RELIEF
