YACHTING.
Peninsula Cruising Club Formed. At a largely attended meeting of yachtsmen on Thursday evening, a new club to be known as the Peninsula Cruising Club was formed. The primary objects of the club will be to foster yacht and motor-boat cruising and racing and to encourage the social side of the sport. Professor J. E. L. Cull presided. It was explained that the meeting had been called with the idea of co-ordinat-ing the activities of cruising men. Members were urged to retain their membership of the clubs they already belonged to, and if the new club could bring new men and new boats into the sport it would be doing a seyvice. The following temporary committee was appointed to draw up a constitution to be submitted to a further general meeting at an early date: Messrs F. L. Friedman, C. Gladstone, C. E. Allen, O. H. Barnes, P. Phipps, Harley G. Ostler, T. T. Gough, L. A. Curtis, A. -T. Round, W. H. Browne, A. E. Kincaid and Professor J. E. L. Cull. Those present at the meeting were:— Messrs L. A.
