TOY-MAKING COMPETITION.
At the last meeting of the Handy Fingers Circle, Aunt Hilda offered a prize for the best hand-made toy. Each little helper responded with great enthusiasm, and a huge pile of very weird and wonderful stuffed toys resulted. Big black cats with glinting green eyes, rosy-faced dolls, and a number of handsome golliwogs came to Starland, and all were so beautifully made that Aunt Hilda found it difficult to select a prize-winner. Finally two prizes were awarded, one ! to Patricia Kiesanowski for a lovely doll with a well painted face, and curls of real black hair, and one to Audrey Small for a most original golliwog, dressed in the garb of an Indian Rajah, and having a head of unusual white hair.
Handy Fingers Circle.
A big bundle of sample toys and articles have gone over to the Coast for exhibition there, and the work is proceeding very steadfastly.
