Carbine’s Riders.

\To the Editor. Dear Sir, —May I inform your correspondent, Mr F. Ward, that Harry Moore was correct. Derrett rode Carbine in his first, second and third starts, White rode Carbine in the autumn oP’BB. winning the Champagne and Challenge Stakes at the C.J.C. meeting. At this meeting Moore rode O’Brien’s second string, Vandal, on the first day. What your correspondent says about White's ability as a horseman is quite correct. White was a great rider for a decade ('BB to '9B). Derrett was a great rider for nearly three decades. It may be of interest to add that Carbine's first win was worth about £SO. —I am. etc., J. J. O’REGAN. Inangahua, West Coast.
