EGG PRICES FURTHER REDUCED.
Rough Weather Causes Scarcity of Fish.
VEGETABLE SUPPLIES SHORTER.
Another drop of a Id per dozen in the price of eggs was made in the retail market this week. First grade are now selling at Is 9d and second grade at Is 7d. The wholesale meat market was slightly firmer this week, but butchers have not made any change in their quotations to the public. Rough weather has caused a shortage of fish and prices are advanced slightly on last week. This is particularly noticeable in the quotations for groper, the increase being 2d a pound. Fruit supplies are still plentiful, but vegetables are becoming scarce. Local lines are dear and most retailers arc obtaining supplies from Central Otago.
