BERLIN DEFIED.

Bavaria Refuses to Lift Ban on Uniforms. GAUNTLET THROWN DOWN. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received June 27, 9.25 a.m.) BERLIN, June 26. Bavaria has thrown down the gauntlet to the Central Government and the Nazis by refusing to raise the ban on the wearing of uniforms. Clashes between the Nazis and Communists continued throughout Germany on Saturday, and there are now three or four killed dail}’’, and many are wounded. BAVARIAN DIET’S ACTION. (By Radio.) (Received June 27, 9 a.m.) MUNICH, June 27. By 74 votes out of a total of 120, the Bavarian Diet passed a motion endorsing the action of the Bavarian Government in regard to the wearing of uniforms and the conflict with the Reich. The Hitlerites were compelled to be absent since they were suspended. The German Nationals were voluntary absentees, the Communists abstained from voting, and all other groups supported the motion. A Stuttgart message says that the deadlock occasioned by the persistent appearance of Hitlerite deputies in the Wurtemburg Diet in uniform, and the equally persistent resolve of the other parties not to allow this, terminated on Saturday afternoon, when the leader of the Hitlerite group intimated to the Speaker of the House that he and his friends would appear next time in civilian dress.
