THE SOCIAL ROUND.

Gatherings Held in Town anc Country. A social evening was given by Mrs A. Allington, Styx Mill Road, recently. Games and competitions and music made a pleasant time pass. Songs were given by Messrs Jones and Law, and competitions were won by Mrs Orbell and Messrs B. Lavender and Law. Those present were: Mr and Mrs Allington, Air and Airs Lavender, Mr and Mrs Jones, Air and Airs Leadbetter, Air and Airs Chaney, Mr and ATrs Law, Mesdamos Orbell, Mottram, Price, Donaldson and Dyer, Misses B. Orbell. Allington (2), ATessrs B. Lavender and J. Barnes. Social Evening. To aid the funds of the Wairtiairi Tennis Club, a coin evening was given by Mrs Lawrence, Brenchly Avenue, Papanui. The evening was spent in playing competitions, musical items and dancing. Items were given by Misses W. Peckham and I. Peckham. June and Nola Lawrence, Messrs S. Comfort, R. Lawrence, C. Lawrence, D. M’Gill, G. Titchener, F. Moran. Mr T. Lawrence was accompanist, and Mrs Radford played for the dancing. Those present were: Airs C. -J. Lawrence, sen.. Airs C.
