BOMBAY RIOTS SPREADING

United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CALCUTTA, May 19. The riot is spreading from the residential and shopping areas to the industrial area in the northern quarter of the city, where thousands of workers have been rendered idle by the closing of forty cotton mills. They frequently clashed with troops and police who again fired on the rioters. There have been many stabbings and cases of incendiarism and looting. The total casualties up to midnight were well over 100 dead and nearly 1000 injured.
