CHARITY BALL.

Major A. B. Williams presided over a meeting of the Presentation SubCommittee of the Charity Ball on Wednesday afternoon. Members from the various city and suburban parishes reported that they were receiving many applications from prospective debutantes who wished to be presented at the ball. The chairman expressed gratification at the fact that already names of debutantes had been received from the country districts, Darfield at present heading the list, though many were expected from Banks Peninsula and North Canterbury. It was decided that two matrons of honour should be included in the official party on the night of the ball, and that four chaperons be appointed. Various details in connection with the presentation ceremony were discussed, and it was decided that a rehearsal should be held on the day preceding the baff! The members of the Presentation Sub-Committee, representing the various parishes, are Lady Clifford, Mrs James flight, Mrs William Hayward, Mrs W. O. Campbell, Mrs W. S. Lee, Mrs O. C. Harley, Miss Kelly, Miss Kathleen O’Connor and Miss Agnes Barrett.
